Live By Faith

Thy Just Shall Live By Faith

What’s up Church!? Well, I was out at work today cutting grass on a bush hog and I saw this sign in front of a church, it simply said: “Walk by faith and not by sight,” and it really hit me…

I mean I’ve heard and seen this verse 100 times, probably more, but it just never hit me like it did today.

We walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

Now stop and really let that sit. “Walk” is a verb. It means move forward. Live your life. Make your choices. Get out of bed and keep going. By faith — not by what your eyes see, your bank account says, your doctor’s report reads, or your kids are doing right now.

So what is faith exactly? Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Break that down. “Substance” means it’s something tangible to God — it’s real currency in heaven’s economy. “Evidence” means it’s your proof. Even if there’s nothing in your hand yet, your faith is your receipt that says it’s already yours.

Faith in the Greek means conviction.

That’s huge. Because conviction is deeper than belief. Belief is knowing God can. Conviction is knowing God will.

Belief says, “I believe God is able to heal.”

Conviction says, “By His stripes I was healed (1 Peter 2:24). It’s done. I’m just waiting for my body to catch up.”

Belief says, “I think God wants to provide for me.”

Conviction says, “My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).”

No wavering. No plan B. No safety net. Just trust that’s so anchored it can’t be moved.

So, we walk by faith (full conviction) and not by sight.

Why is that so radical? Because everything around us screams for our attention. Bills. Pain. Relationships falling apart. People talking. Your past shouting that you’ll always be stuck. But faith says, “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m moved by what God said.”

Faith in what?

Faith in what God says is true. Period.

That means what He says about you. Not what your mama said, your ex said, your probation officer said, or your own mind tells you at 2 AM.

Here’s what God says:

  • We are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Not just “kind of cleaned up.” Righteous. When He looks at you, He sees Jesus’ perfect record, not your mess.
  • The head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13).
You lead. You’re above, not beneath. Even if you’ve been stepped on your whole life, God’s verdict is you’re meant to rise.
  • We are just (Romans 5:1).
That means declared not guilty. Acquitted. Case closed.
  • Sanctified (1 Corinthians 6:11).
Set apart. Made holy. Not common, not dirty, not forgotten.
  • Blessed coming in and blessed going out (Deuteronomy 28:6).
Wherever you go, favor tracks you down.
  • Kings and priests (Revelation 1:6).
You have authority and access. Kings rule, priests minister. That’s you.
  • A chosen people (1 Peter 2:9).
Hand-picked. Wanted. Not rejected, not overlooked.
  • Predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).
God’s plan is to shape you into Jesus’ likeness — not keep you the same.
  • Not condemned by Him (Romans 8:1).
There is no condemnation hanging over your head if you’re in Christ.
  • Made in His likeness (Genesis 1:27).
His image-bearer. You reflect Him, flaws and all.
  • In Christ (Galatians 3:26-28).
Meaning you’re hidden in Jesus. What’s true about Him is now true about you.

And honestly — that’s just scratching the surface. The Bible is one long record of what God has spoken over you.

So here’s the real test: Will you live by faith — by conviction in all this — or by sight?

Because living by sight is easy. Anyone can live by sight. That’s natural.

But we’re called to be supernatural people. To live by faith means you anchor your life on what God says, period, even if everything around you looks the opposite.

That means when the enemy says, “You’ll never change,” you stand on the Word that says you’re being transformed from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

When your mind says, “It’s too late,” you declare God restores the years the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25).

When fear says, “This is going to take you out,” you rest in Psalm 91 that says no plague shall come near your dwelling.

So today, make a decision to walk by faith.

Get so convinced of what God says that nothing can talk you out of it — not your feelings, not your friends, not even your failures.

Stand on it. Speak it. Thank Him for it like it’s already done.

Because in God’s eyes, it is.
