DO YOU LOVE GOD?

Romans 8:28 KJV – And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called accordimg to his purpose.

Do you love God? I mean, do we even really know what love is?

Lets look at The Apostle Pauls description of love in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-13:

Love…

…suffers long …is kind …envys not …vaunteth (boasts of ones self) not …is not puffed up (arrogant) …does not behave unseemly (rudely) …seeks not her own …is not easily provoked …thinks no evil …does not rejoice in iniquity …rejoices in truth …bears all things …believes all things …hopes all things …endures all things …never fails

And the original Greek definition of love in Romans 8:28 is:

Unselfish, ready to serve

Cherishing above all else

To value & esteem

Love and trust were the 2 hardest things in life for me to learn because of my chikdhood experiences. I lost my closest loved ones at the ages of 12 and 15. One of whom I speak of often (my Dad) and who was my custodial parent and also very abusive most of the time.

Thus, I never really learned what true love was until I got saved. God began to teach me to trust in Him and not in man only (Psalms 118:8-9), He also taught me what true love really is by expressing it through me to others.

We’ve all been hurt and we’ve all been betrayed at one time or another, BUT God promises that ALL things work together for our good.

And we can trust Him with everything because He promises to never leave nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8, Hebrews 13:5) and that if we trust in Him with all our hearts and acknowledge Him 1st, that He will direct our paths (Proverbs 3: 5-6)

What an awesome God we serve!

Be blessed Church
